Group formed vs.mining in central Negros
Representatives from various sectors in southern Negros Occidental have formed the People’s Movement for Environmental Protection in Central Negros to campaign against mining activities and mining applications in the area, organizers said in a press release.
At its First General Assembly in Himamaylan City on Friday, PEMEP-CN gathered about 115 participants from non-government organizations, people’s organizations, schools, churches and local Government Units of Kabankalan, Himamaylan, Binalbagan, Isabela, Moises Padilla and La Castellana, the press release said.
